Up-front

Sure, Diego Costa is on fire. But behind him, Antonio Conte is clearly not convinced by Michy Batshuayi, so much so to the extent that they played without a striker when Costa was suspended for the Boxing Day game against Bournemouth.

Adding a back up choice that Conte believes in, and potentially loaning out Batshuayi, could be the difference between winning the league or not if Diego Costa picks up an injury or allows his temper to get the better of him.

The latest name to be linked is Swansea’s Fernando Llorente, who worked with Conte at Juventus, and his physical and aerial threat is one of the most similar to Costa currently playing in the Premier League. Swansea may not be keen to let him depart, but Llorente is unlikely to want to drop to the Championship and signed for just £5 million in the summer, so could be available fairly cheap.
