Ivan Rakitic

Though an unlikely target for the blues, and especially unlikely that he would leave Spanish giants Barcelona, Rakitic would slot in nicely alongside the likes of Matic and Fabregas in the Chelsea midfield. The heir to Xavi’s throne in Catalonia, Rakitic has developed into a world-class player even more so since his departure from Sevilla. Barcelona found themselves a bargain when he moved for a fee of around £15million, and chances are he’d cost treble that amount in today’s market. Nonetheless he’s a fine passer of the ball, hardworking, defensively capable and a robust creative midfielder. Also off the back of a domestic double, he has all the qualities necessary to be successful in the Premier League.
