Chelsea have been linked with a move for Roma and Belgium midfield dynamo over the last few days, after the player himself admitted there has been contact between the English giants and his current host club.
Unfortunately for the Blues, they may have suffered a hit in their attempts to land Roma’s number four, according to the Evening Standard. Here are three alternatives for Chelsea to chase should their move for the Belgian fall through.
Paul Pogba
The Frenchman was largely fancied by Jose Mourinho, and is off the back off another title-winning season with Juventus. Though he’d command a hell of a fee – especially if any proposed move comes after a successful tournament with France this summer – he would be one hell of a signing. Composed, confident, quality in all aspects of the game, a true giant who’s likely to go down a legend if he continues on this career path. Even with experience of England thanks to his time at Manchester United, Pogba would be the signing of the summer for whoever he chose to join, should he leave Juventus.
