Ask most Arsenal fans and they’ll probably tell you that Ghanaian star Thomas Partey is integral to how their midfield, and team in general, performs.

The dynamic midfield star has battled numerous injuries and setbacks since arriving at Arsenal but is now getting a good run in the team and showing what he’s all about. Partey has played 90 minutes in all of the club’s last seven games and it’s little coincidence that they’ve won six of the seven.

However, it might not be a coincidence that Partey has hit form. According to a report from CBS Sports today, Partey has been putting in the extra work in training and has been doing so since December. CBS reports how Partey took it upon himself to do extra conditioning work to strengthen muscles he previously felt were hindering him.

Clearly. the extra load has worked out well for Partey. He is now playing very well for the Gunners, living up to the billing of being called ‘brilliant’ by Paul Scholes not long after he arrived in England.

Granit Xhaka has also played well in midfield but there is no doubting just how important Thomas Partey is to the Gunners.

He is the rock in the middle for them and brings a presence that few in the Arsenal XI do. But aside from that presence, he is also very good with the ball as well. A key facet in being able to fit into Arteta’s set up, of course.

If Partey can keep fit, and keep this extra work up to aide his career, then Arsenal will definitely see value for money on that £45m investment they parted ways with.
