After 10 years at Tottenham Hotspur, Heung-min Son leaves the club and also signals the loss of a key player for Thomas Frank’s squad.
Son has joined LAFC in a deal worth around £20 million, bringing to a close a glittering career in North London, where he helped Spurs win the Europa League.
Tottenham Hotspur now face the impossible task of looking to replace their former club captain and everything that he brought to the team.
The North London club could dip into the transfer window to sort a replacement, but Thomas Frank appears to have found an internal solution.

Thomas Frank has taken a real shine to Wilson Odobert at Tottenham
Frank is believed to have taken a real shine to Wilson Odobert at Tottenham, according to Alasdair Gold.
The Lilywhites are unlikely to sign another left winger at this stage, unless there is another departure, as they are well stocked in that position.
TBR Football understands that Richarlison could be sold by Tottenham this summer, although his future should be clarified in the coming weeks.
Odobert, Mathys Tel, Richarlison, Brennan Johnson and Mohammed Kudus are all capable of filling that role on the left.
At some stage, following his loan spell at Rangers, Mikey Moore will want minutes and adding another left-wing option would further reduce his chances of playing.
Gold told Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham: “I think if someone else were to leave, then I think they’d look to get in a replacement, but I think right now, you could play Odobert, Tel, Richarlison, Johnson and Kudus there.
“Bringing someone else there and blocking young players’ paths, when is Mikey Moore ever going to get a game for Spurs if you keep putting players in that position.
“From what I understand, he’s taken a real shine to Odobert; he thinks he’s going to be something special.”
Frank named Odobert as a replacement for Son when he discussed the club’s plans for life after the South Korean.
During pre-season matches, the young Frenchman has shown some promising signs, but a lot of work remains before he can get close to Son’s levels of performance.
Tottenham’s best Son replacement from Odobert, Tel, Richarlison, Johnson and Kudus
Odobert, Tel, Richarlison, Johnson and Kudus could all be vying for a spot on either flank next term, highlighting Spurs’ depth in that area already.
Johnson and Kudus are predominantly expected to feature on the right, and Odobert, Tel and Richarlison on the other flank.

Tel and Richarlison can also cover for Dominic Solanke in the number nine role, but Spurs could also add another option there in the transfer window.
But given Frank’s stance over Odobert, he looks set to be the player who takes that role ahead of next week’s UEFA Super Cup.
