A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has won the Gunners Goal of the Month award for February.
The Arsenal striker appeared to have done enough to edge Mikel Arteta’s side into the last 16 of the Europa League thanks to his superb bicycle kick against Olympiacos at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal took a slender 1-0 lead into the last-32 second leg at the Emirates Stadium as the Greek giants came to town but were taken to extra time by Pape Abou Cisse’s goal early in the second half.

Aubameyang’s goal in the 113th minute put Arsenal 2-1 up on aggregate but, as extra time entered its latter stages, however, the Gunners conceded again, this time through the unmarked Youssef El Arabi’s effort.
In a heartbreaking twist of fate, Aubameyang failed to convert a gilt-edged opportunity to score late on, and his disconsolate reaction at the end of the game was upsetting to say the least.
As a result, the Gabon international winning the club’s Goal of the Month award was a very bittersweet piece of news for the Arsenal fanbase:
Arsenal’s next scheduled fixture is on Saturday, a Premier League trip to Brighton.
