Many Arsenal fans seem firmly against the idea of selling Bernd Leno.
The Daily Mail suggest that Leno could be shipped out by Arsenal next summer, as Aaron Ramsdale has emerged as their number one.
Ramsdale impressed on his Premier League debut at the weekend, as Arsenal beat Norwich City 1-0.
The English keeper looked composed with the ball at his feet, and he was solid when called upon.
It must be noted that Ramsdale wasn’t particularly overworked during the contest, though.
And the suggestions that Leno could be put on the chopping board so early on in Ramsdale’s Arsenal career have not gone down well with many supporters at the Emirates Stadium.
Leno has indeed been solid for Arsenal, but there are question marks over whether he is ideally suited to Mikel Arteta’s approach.
Leno isn’t the most comfortable with the ball at his feet, which can be an issue with Arteta so determined to build from the back.
The German also only has two years left on his current contract at Arsenal so next summer may be the Gunners’ last chance to recoup a sizeable fee, unless he agrees new terms.
For Leno to be sold, Ramsdale will need to continue to impress at Arsenal over the course of the season.
Arteta’s side are next in domestic action against Burnley on Saturday, when Ramsdale looks likely to start – and his ability to claim crosses is sure to be tested.
