Leeds United announced on Friday morning that Illan Meslier has signed a new contract with them – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter are buzzing with the news.

The Whites confirmed on their official website earlier today that their goalkeeper has penned a fresh deal at Elland Road.

Meslier has committed his future to the Yorkshire club by signing a new long-term contract at Elland Road. His updated deal keeps him at the Yorkshire club until 2026.

The 21-year-old shot-stopper is fully deserving of his reward because he’s a key figure in Marcelo Bielsa’s XI.

His debut season in the Premier League last year saw him keep 11 clean sheets in the top flight.

He may not turn 22 until next year, but the youngster has such a presence in net that gives confidence to teammates.
