'This is just horrible': Some Rangers fans react to 'awful' club announcement
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club made an announcement in regards to the new away kit.
What’s the story?
Well, Castore have now released the away shirt ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, but it hasn’t exactly gone down well.
Castore have opted for a black strip, which pays tribute to the club’s rich and proud Govan history, as per the announcement from Rangers.
The black shirt has subtle stripes, and a red collar with an odd white and yellow feature in the centre.
Castore, like they did on the home shirt, have also used gold for their own logo, the club’s badge, and the sponsor.
Have Castore let Rangers down?
Judging by the responses below, the Ibrox faithful really aren’t happy.
The 2021/22 season marks the club’s 150th anniversary, so it would’ve been great if Castore created some iconic shirts for the Scottish giants.
However, unless something memorable is done in the shirts, we doubt the kits alone will live long in the memory based on the reaction.
Hopefully, Castore take note of what the Rangers fans aren’t happy about, and can deliver a better effort in 2022.
For now, let’s see how the Rangers fans on Twitter reacted to the club’s announcement…
For all the build up of our 150th year I have actually been pretty disappointed with the strips this year.— Mr 55 (@MBS1872) July 23, 2021
An opportunity to create some iconic strips with nods to the past & imo the home and away ones are just meh https://t.co/Bxef1o2c3L
Honestly not sure how I feel about this… might have to see it in person. https://t.co/IwywgvDbQA— Alan (@AlanOnlySky) July 23, 2021
Every single fan I know wanted one thing from this year's kits: Nostalgia. A nod to the iconic kits that form our rich history.— Brownie (@OzRNGR) July 23, 2021
Castore serve up this monstrosity. 🤦♂️😥 https://t.co/Hi6QW6mpF4
Fair play in uniting a support, this is just horrible. https://t.co/Bhu2o4hJdl— John (@JohnMcIntosh19) July 23, 2021
Awful, truly awful from Castore. Seen better strips from those 12yr olds making concept strips on their computers. We must have been given the gap year student to design our shirts. Awful. https://t.co/SAnliZ46gF— Gary Miller (@garymiller_85) July 23, 2021
This season’s kits are so bad man, can’t wait till we move on from Castore. . . . . don’t like this at all https://t.co/n2O3pxPnjt— Marc (@MarcJLumsden) July 23, 2021
