Liverpool’s Curtis Jones has impressed after scoring a brilliant free-kick in training with England’s under-21 side.
Set piece specialist
Jones bent in a left-footed shot from the edge of the box, which curled right into the top corner.
The Liverpool man’s excellence from set pieces is, perhaps, not as well known as it should be around at Anfield – where is isn’t regular given chances to take free-kicks.
But his latest shot shows that he certainly has the ability to take them from the edge of the box, even with his weaker foot.
And Liverpool fans were happy to see Jones’ piece of excellence on the training ground.
Big season incoming
Jones is expected to have a big season at Liverpool this term.
The youngster missed the opening week of the season with injury, which has allowed Harvey Elliott to seize his place in the side.
But with Georginio Wijnaldum leaving, it is widely anticipated that Jones will receive plenty of chances.
Jones played 33 times for Liverpool last season and is clearly admired by all at Anfield.
And if he can keep producing such moments of class in training back with the Reds then it is surely only a matter of time before he breaks into Jurgen Klopp’s starting line up.
