Crystal Palace midfielder Jairo Riedewald has penned a contract extension at Selhurst Park, much to the delight of the Eagles fanbase.

The 24-year-old joined Palace from Dutch giants Ajax in 2017, arriving during Frank de Boer’s short-lived stint at Selhurst Park.

Riedewald has become an important member of Roy Hodgson’s squad, winning the club’s Player of the Month in both January and October of 2020.

The Dutchman has made 57 competitive appearances for Palace, including 19 this season.

He has now scored twice for the Eagles in the Premier League this season, against Fulham and again in last night’s win over Newcastle.

Riedewald has committed his future to Palace until the summer of 2024, the latest player to pen new terms after Nathaniel Clyne and Vicente Guaita recently signed new deals.

Needless to say, many Eagles fans are delighted with the news:

Palace currently sit 13th in the Premier League table, and are next in action on Monday night with a trip to Leeds United.
