'This is big news', 'better be true': Some Everton fans buzzing as Fabrizio Romano shares update
A number of Everton fans have welcomed Fabrizio Romano’s injury update on Toffees star Abdoulaye Doucoure.
The Goodison Park midfielder was ruled out of action earlier this month following the defeat to West Ham.
Doucoure suffered a stress response in his foot, and Romano reported that he was expected to be out for up to seven weeks.
However, it now appears that the Everton star could be back earlier than expected.
On Tuesday, Romano tweeted: “Abdoulaye Doucoure injury update.
“Everton midfielder will be back earlier than expected.
“He’s preparing his comeback in four/four and half weeks, after the international break.
“Finally some good news for Rafa Benitez.”
In addition, Doucoure himself appeared to suggest that the timescale was accurate, by replying with open palms, blue heart and flexed bicep emojis.
Needless to say, Everton fans were buzzing over the update:
This is big news. We miss you already after 1 game lol

Doucoure joined Everton in the summer of 2020 from Watford for a reported £20million.
The Blues ace has made 43 competitive appearances for the Toffees, registering five goals and seven assists.
Doucoure has been especially crucial for Rafael Benitez this season, registering two goals and four assists in the league.
Everton currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, but they’ve lost their last two top-flight games.
Benitez’s charges are next in action next Monday when they take on Wolves at Molineux.
