Fabrizio Romano has told The Here We Go Podcast that Liverpool are preparing a first contract offer for Sadio Mane amid reports that the forward is keen to secure fresh terms on Merseyside.
Mane is heading into a crucial period in his Anfield career. His current deal with the Reds is set to expire at the end of next season.

It was recently reported that he was hoping to sign a new contract with improved terms. And plenty of Liverpool fans reacted to the reports by imploring the club to make sure that he was handed an extension.
Mane has scored seven goals in the Premier League already this season. Only Mohamed Salah has found the back of the net more often in the top flight so far this term.
And it appears that the Reds hierarchy are ready to answer their fans’ calls for Mane to have his future resolved.

Romano has suggested that a first attempt to tie Mane down is imminent.
“The Liverpool board are prepared to meet Sadio Mane and his agents to discuss his new contract. This is an important update for Liverpool because we all talk about Salah,” he told The Here We Go Podcast.
“Liverpool are preparing the first approaches with Mane.”
Agreeing new contract with Sadio Mane could be huge statement from Liverpool
Mane looks to be back to his best in front of goal this term. He is only four goals away from matching his tally from the entirety of the previous campaign – having made 20 fewer starts so far.
He will turn 30 before the end of the season. So Liverpool may be wary of offering him an eye-watering sum to stay.
But given that he appears to be as influential as he ever has been, the bigger gamble would surely be allowing his terms to run down much further.
