'This is 100%': Romano says Arsenal definitely want signing and 26-year-old could leave at the last minute
Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin’s move away from the Emirates Stadium could go down to the wire, Fabrizio Romano has suggested to the Arsenal Lounge.
Last minute departure?
Bellerin has been linked with a move away from the Gunners, but Mikel Arteta’s side have struggled to offload him to date.
As a result, Arsenal haven’t been able to upgrade in that area.
But Romano suggests that Arsenal are still on the hunt for a right-back, although selling Bellerin is very problematic.

“Yes, they are looking for a RB as we know for a long time this is 100% confirmed,” Romano said.
“Bellerin wants to try something new. The problem is everyone knows that Bellerin wants to go and Arsenal are prepared to sell him and this is why many clubs are waiting
“Maybe for the final week or the final days of the window to jump into a deal and to try find a solution because they were trying with Inter but he was never first option for Inter… Spanish clubs are looking at his situation so let’s see.
“The main target for RB was Hakimi at the start of the window… but it was impossible… they now need to find a good solution but it isn’t easy… I expect the final two weeks to be very busy for Arsenal.”
Right-back needed
Bellerin actually didn’t start in Arsenal’s first game of the season, with Calum Chambers selected ahead of him.
Chambers struggled against Brentford, and it highlighted Arsenal’s need to sign a right-back, if they are no longer sticking with Bellerin.
Although Chambers has his qualities, he is more comfortable in a central position than out wide in the defence.
And bringing in a new full-back could be imperative to Arsenal’s chances of success this season now.
