‘This guy is incredible’: Some Spurs fans react to reported interest in ‘very highly rated’ centre-back
A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the Sky Sports report linking Spurs with Joe Rodon.
According to the Sky Sports live transfer blog (5/10; 17:58), Tottenham are in talks with Swansea over the 22-year-old centre-back, with a £18m deal close to being agreed.
Tottenham are yet to sign a centre-back this summer, and with Jan Vertonghen leaving Spurs and Juan Foyth departing on loan, there’s very much room for a new central defender.

At present, Jose Mourinho has Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and the versatile Japhet Tanganga at his disposal in central defence.
Earlier today, The Telegraph reported on their blog (5/10; 9:02) that Mourinho was happy with his options, but now it looks as though there could be a new arrival in the position after all.
Rodon, who came through the ranks at Swans, has clocked up 54 senior appearances for the Championship side, including five in all competitions this season.
Sports journalist Dominic Booth, who formerly covered Swansea for the South Wales Evening Post, told Sky Sports in May that Rodon was destined for bigger things.
“He brings the ball out from the back, he’s comfortable with it at his feet,” Booth said.
“Rodon is a leader given his age, a bit of an old head on young shoulders. He’s good in the air despite not being a huge presence, and looks destined for bigger things.”
Here is what some Spurs fans have made of the speculation:

I think he offers more aerial presence than Foyth though. Not saying Foyth is bad, but this guy is incredible.

Home grown maybe? Plus from what I’ve heard of Swansea fans they rate him very highly! For 18 million I think this is a good deal!
