Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe has taken to Instagram with a message praising Gunners teammate and fellow Hale End star Bukayo Saka.
The versatile attacker delivered a simply outstanding display as Mikel Arteta’s charges ran out 3-1 winners at Southampton in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
Arsenal were desperate to make amends after losing to the same opposition at the same ground at the weekend to exit the FA Cup at the fourth round.
Things began badly for the Gunners as Stuart Armstrong put Saints ahead after just four minutes, but Nicolas Pepe equalised in the eighth minute.
Saka was then involved in both of Arsenal’s subsequent goals, rounding Alex McCarthy to score from Alexandre Lacazette’s threaded ball on 39 minutes.
The Hale End graduate then turned provider for Lacazette in the 72nd minute, his first-time ball across the face of goal tapped home by the Frenchman.
After the game, Smith Rowe expressed his delight in claiming another three points before waxing lyrical about Saka:
Saka now has five goals and four assists from 25 appearances in all competitions this season.
His overall Arsenal tally stands at 67 competitive appearances, nine goals and 15 assists.
