‘This could work’, ‘Average’: Some Newcastle fans disagree amid reports of interest in Chris Smalling

Newcastle United are being linked with a move for Manchester United defender, Chris Smalling, with Sky Sports reporting this weekend that Steve Bruce is keen on the England man.

Smalling spent last season in Italy, impressing in a loan spell with Roma. Indeed, it is claimed that the 30-year-old would prefer a move back to Serie A and, at present, has little interest in a move to the northeast.

However, that hasn’t stopped the Toon Army having their say on the transfer deal, with a number of Magpies supporters taking time out on Twitter to voice their opinions.

Despite the success Smalling has had in his career, there are a big number of Newcastle fans who don’t seem to want him on board. Of course, there are supporters who would love to see the Man United join.
