'This club isn’t serious' 'Sums us up': Some Spurs fans rage over transfer blow for talent
Spurs have suffered another blow in their attempt to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
According to ABC Sevilla, the La Liga side have flat out ignored Tottenham’s offer for the French youngster.
As per the report, the north London side submitted a €30m (£25m) bid for Kounde, with Sevilla wanting €70m (£60m) for the centre-back.
The report also states that Kounde views Tottenham as an ‘unattractive’ club.
Indeed, the north London side won’t be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season. Instead, Spurs will take part in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League.
Reports in the past 24 hours seemingly indicate that Tottenham’s chances of signing Kounde are next to zero.
The 22-year-old defender wants to play top-level football. And with Spurs competing in the third-tier of European competition, Kounde is unlikely to drop down to the Europa Conference League for a club that has not won any silverware since 2008.
Indeed, Tottenham fans on social media were fuming with the update. Spurs are yet to sign a player this summer, and Kounde, for a time being, looked like a realistic option this window.
Here’s what some Spurs supporters had to say about the club’s approach to Kounde this summer on Twitter…
