'This club is finished': Some Arsenal fans are frustrated with transfer update on 21-year-old
Arsenal have reportedly had a bid rejected for R.S.C. Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga.
According to Belgian publication HLN, the Gunners have had an offer of €15m (£13m) turned down for the 21-year-old midfielder. Vincent Kompany’s side are looking for a guaranteed fee of €20m for the youngster.
Sambi Lokonga is a top target for Arsenal this summer. Moreover, the midfielder is one of Anderlecht’s key players and has worn the captain’s armband on multiple occasions.
The Gunners are likely to sell both Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi this month. Indeed, central midfield is a key area for Mikel Arteta this summer, with the Basque manager seemingly eager to sign a partner for Thomas Partey.
Despite submitting an offer for Sambi Lokonga and the report stating that Arsenal could go back in for the midfielder, supporters on social media were not happy with the news.
Fans are keen for the club to make signings this summer that can take the club back into the top-four of the Premier League. Furthermore, Arsenal have already missed out on Emi Buendia, whilst the Athletic report that Martin Odegaard is likely to stay at Real Madrid next season.
