Newcastle United fans have reacted to the speculation claiming Benoit Badiashile could be out until late February.
The Magpies have reportedly been eyeing the Monaco defender in recent weeks.
Indeed, the Daily Mail claimed on Sunday that Newcastle had opened talks over a move for Badiashile.

However, the 20-year-old had to come off in the 43rd minute of Sunday’s draw with Nantes.
RMC Sport then reported that Badiashile would be missing six weeks of action.
There have been conflicting reports about the defender’s fitness.
Fabrizio Romano claimed on Tuesday morning that Monaco believe Badiashile could be out for up to three weeks.
However, there has been no official update on his fitness yet.
Given how much Eddie Howe could do with new centre-backs, a long-term injury would surely see this lead dry up.
Here’s what some Newcastle fans have made of the report:
The 6ft 4in defender came through the ranks at the Stade Louis II and made his breakthrough in 2019-20.
Badiashile has made 105 appearances for Monaco, including 20 in all competitions this season.
Peers, pundits and publications all rate Badiashile highly.
Get French Football News wrote in 2019 that the player was similar to “Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, one of Europe’s best ball-playing centre-backs.
“In the way Badiashile commands the defence at the back but is also capable of distributing the ball calmly and with great accuracy when needed.”
And last year, Spanish outlet AS said Badiashile was like “a new Raphael Varane”.
