Chelsea fans were actually impressed with Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele yesterday, despite their comfortable victory.
Impressing in defeat
Chelsea ended up running out 3-0 winners in the London derby, as they highlighted their superiority over Tottenham in the second half of the contest.
But it must be said that Ndombele did at least show some flashes of quality.
The Frenchman was brought back into Tottenham’s starting line-up by Nuno for the first time in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham actually made a fast start to the game, and some of Ndombele’s link-up play was highly impressive.
His showing may not have helped Spurs to victory, but he did manage to catch the eye of a number of Chelsea supporters.
Searching for fitness
Ndombele was ultimately withdrawn after the hour mark for Tottenham, as he continues to work on his fitness levels.
The 24-year-old is still fighting for a place under Nuno, but his display yesterday must have helped.
Ndombele looked like Tottenham’s most creative option in defeat, although even he couldn’t unlock Chelsea’s defence.
Spurs have now fallen to defeat in their last two Premier League games, which has seen them slip down to seven in the table.
