Liverpool ace Thiago Alcantara has named Reds full-back Andrew Robertson as the funniest teammate at Anfield, saying “everyone loves” the Scotland international.
Robertson has been nothing short of a revelation since making the move to Merseyside from Hull City three-and-a-half years ago in a reported initial £8million deal.
The 26-year-old’s pace, energy, crossing ability, workrate and professionalism have seen him develop into one of the best left-backs in the world and become a major asset for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
On Tuesday, Liverpool shared a video of a Q&A involving Thiago, in which he answered a range of questions including whether he has pineapple on pizza and his favourite Beatles song.
When asked about his funniest teammate, the 29-year-old replied: “100% Robbo. He’s a very funny guy, a very natural person. Everyone loves him and I think he’s a great teammate.”
What else can be said about Robertson that hasn’t been said already?
The man is a machine and has been a crucial member of the Liverpool juggernaut clinically dispatched of most of their opponents en route to trophy glory in the past two years.
And judging by Thiago’s comments, the £50,000-a-week ace is a hugely popular figure in the dressing room, one which boasts great camaraderie – often a key trait in success.
