Wright on what he heard Arteta saying to his players

Speaking on the Ringer FC podcast, Wrighty’s House, the Gunners legend says he could hear Arteta giving instructions to his players

He said: “You know what I loved. They were training, they were right there. We were behind the curtain!

“Mikel was talking about, ‘right win the ball here, and then go’. And like being there was like, this is what we’re going to try and do! We’re going to win the ball there and do this.

“And then the way they all came over and they were chatting, just talking about stuff, I felt like how a fan must feel if you get that kind of access.”

‘Beautiful vibe’ in the Arsenal camp

Wright was talking to fellow host Musa Okwonga and admitted he was ‘excited’ to be amongst the Arsenal players in Germany at the Adidas Centre.

And Arsenal fans will have reason to be excited as the former striker said there is currently a ‘beautiful vibe’ in the Gunners camp.

Arteta’s side have been in brilliant form during pre-season and held a flawless record before their 2-1 loss to Brentford yesterday.

In what was the most notable result, Arsenal thrashed Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side 4-0 last weekend.

As an Arsenal fan, Wright is clearly excited about the upcoming season and has seen first-hand the work Arteta is doing with his team.

The Spaniard is now shaping the Gunners team in his image and bringing in players that suit the style of football he wants to play. Having worked with Arsenal new-boys Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jesus beforehand, he’ll know exactly what they’re capable of bringing to North London.
