Tottenham fans were treated to a rare sight on Sunday – Dejan Kulusesvski scoring a header.
According to Transfermarkt, the Swede’s goal against Manchester City was just the fourth headed goal of his career, and even then it came off of his shoulder.
Simply put, despite standing at 6ft 1, Kulusevski isn’t the best in the air, and according to Alasdair Gold, speaking on his YouTube channel, that is something Tottenham really want the winger to improve on.
Indeed, Gold noted that Kulusevski isn’t the most consistent header of a ball, claiming that, interestingly, Spurs do want him to get better at this aspect of his game if possible.

Tottenham want Kulusevski to improve in the air
Gold shared what he knows about the £15m man.
“I think it is because he doesn’t head the ball much, and that’s why we ended up with this weird head-shoulder hybrid finish. I think it is interesting that this is something they really want him to improve on, and he’s had a bit of an uptick in terms of goals and assists as well,” Gold said.
Important
It may sound really basic, but it’s very important for a player like Kulusevski to be good in the air.
He’s 6ft 1, that’s fairly tall for a winger, and he should be able to get the better of many full-backs or even centre-back when arriving at the back post.
The likes of Destiny Udogie and James Maddison are fantastic crossers from that left side, and if Kulusevski can refine that are of his game the team will benefit massively.
His goal against Manchester City is a great start, and if he can continue to carve out and finish out those kinds of chances, he will add a brand new dynamic threat to his game.
Ange Postecoglou wants Kulusevski to score more, and improving in the air is one way he can become more prolific.
