‘They aren’t a million miles away’: Paul Merson predicts Norwich v Leeds result

Norwich and Leeds face off in the Premier League on Sunday, and it’s an absolute must-win game for both the Canaries and the Whites.

Marcelo Bielsa’s charges have been struggling in the league this term, with four draws and four defeats from nine.

Leeds also suffered a further blow in midweek as Arsenal knocked them out of the Carabao Cup.

They head to fellow relegation battlers Norwich, currently at the foot of the Premier League table.

The Canaries played out goalless draws against Burnley and Brighton either side of the international break.

However, they were then hammered 7-0 by Chelsea last week, and they’re yet to win all season.

Paul Merson, writing on Sportskeeda, reckons Leeds will suffer a 1-0 defeat at Carrow Road.

He says Norwich “aren’t a million miles away” from getting things right, and believes Leeds are a “funny team” who could struggle without Raphinha.

“This is a game Norwich have to win,” wrote Merson.

“They were battered by Chelsea last week but they should’ve managed a win against Brighton.

“They aren’t a million miles away from a result, and I think they could pick up their first league victory of the season here.

“Leeds are a funny team. They went to Southampton and didn’t have a shot on target.

“And they needed a last-minute penalty against Wolves to scrap their way to a draw.

“Raphinha’s injury also comes as a massive blow to them.

“It’s a good time to play against Leeds, and Norwich could pull off a surprise this weekend.”
