Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro Raniere has told WeAreTottenhamTV that he was so impressed by Rodrigo Bentancur after playing against him.
Sandro spent four years in north London after signing from Brazilian outfit Internacional back in 2010. The tenacious midfielder became something of a fan-favourite before leaving for Queens Park Rangers.
Now the Brazilian shared his thoughts on Tottenham’s Bentancur, who joined for £20 million back in January (Sky Sports).
The Uruguayan has been putting in some impressive displays since making the switch from Juventus and Sandro says he knew about his quality before he even joined Spurs.

Sandro so impressed by Bentancur
Speaking on WeAreTottenhamTV’s YouTube channel, Sandro was asked for his view on Antonio Conte’s current midfield options.
“Yeah they are amazing, I saw Pierre [Hojbjerg] and Rodrigo,” he said.
“I played against Rodrigo in Italy and he’s so good, he’s good. Pierre as well, he’s class.
“They can play strong and they can play good passes. They can score goals, they can shoot from long distances.”

Sandro played his football in Italy for around 18 months while Betnancur was at Juve. The Spurs man clearly impressed the Brazilian with his displays in Turin.
The 25-year-old eventually fell down the pecking order under Massimiliano Allegri but Spurs have seemingly picked up a player who looks set to be a mainstay in Conte’s midfield.
Hojbjerg and Bentancur have struck up a brilliant partnership since the Uruguayan made the switch earlier this year.
Their places looked under threat after the arrival of Yves Bissouma over the summer, but Conte clearly trusts both players wholeheartedly at this moment in time.
The duo look set to start once again at Old Trafford tonight as Spurs look to build on their best ever start to a Premier League season.
