These Everton fans want Marco Silva gone and replaced with Jose Mourinho

Everton’s poor start to the new season continued yesterday as they lost 1-0 to Burnley at Turf Moor. It was the club’s fourth defeat in a row in the league, coming after Jeff Hendrick scored from yet another poorly defended set-piece from Everton. 

The result means Everton are currently one place outside the relegation zone and has plenty of fans calling for Marco Silva to get the chop. 

The Portuguese has struggled to get the best out of the Everton team in recent weeks and fans have grown impatient with the seemingly ineffective management style of the former Watford boss. 

But who should replace him?

Plenty of Everton fans on Twitter have a fairly ambitious pitch for the role. They would like to see fellow Portuguese national Jose Mourinho take over at Goodison Park. 

Mourinho is out of work following his exit from Manchester United and has been working as a fairly sensational TV pundit in recent months. 

Everton have the money available to lure a man of Mourinho’s class to the club and he would be an eyebrow-raising appointment on Merseyside. 

Mourinho has won the Europa League twice, the Premier League three times and has also won the Champions League on two occasions. Throw in his sensational La Liga win at Real Madrid in 2011-12 and you have the resume of one of football’s greatest ever coaches. 

So it would take a lot of Farhad Moshiri’s millions to convince Mourinho into a Goodison Park move. 

However, these Everton fans are of the opinion that it is an avenue that needs to be explored…
