These 2 reasons give Celtic the upper hand against Rosenborg

In the next few days, Celtic are set to play two of the most important games so far this season.

Firstly, they take on Rosenborg in a crucial Europa League group stage match. And then, they face Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup final.

Brendan Rodgers will have his players solely focusing on their European challenge for now.

Celtic travel to Norway to play Rosenborg and they are currently third in their group.

With the top two teams progressing, Celtic know they must get all three points against Rosenborg so that they have a chance of overtaking second-place Red Bull Leipzig, who are level on points with the Bhoys.

But Celtic’s hopes of beating Rosenborg will surely be boosted by two factors affecting their opponents.

Rosenborg are also preparing for a cup final on Sunday as they face Stromsgodset for the Norwegian Cup title.

Although both Celtic and Rosenborg will be focused on their weekend game, the Thursday clash matters less to the Norwegian side.

This is because they are already knocked out of the Europa League.

With no points from their first four games, Rosenborg have no hope of progressing to the knockout rounds.

With their Europa League fate sealed, their only focus will be on Sunday’s cup final, surely giving Celtic the upper hand for Thursday night.
