‘There’s no way’: Jamie O’Hara suggests 25-year-old player won’t be happy at Tottenham after the World Cup ends

Jamie O’Hara has suggested on TalkSPORT that Richarlison won’t be happy at Tottenham Hotspur after the World Cup ends.

Richarlison is still finding his feet at Spurs after making the switch from Everton over the summer. But the 25-year-old is certainly proving to be Brazil’s main man in Qatar right now.

The 25-year-old has mainly played out wide for Tottenham under Antonio Conte but he is flourishing while playing as a striker for Brazil.

He’s netted three goals in as many games for Tite’s men and scored arguably the two best goals of the tournament so far.

But O’Hara feels Richarlison could become unhappy if ends up on the bench at Tottenham after the World Cup.

O’Hara suggests Richarlison won’t be happy at Spurs

Speaking on TalkSPORT last night, O’Hara feels Richarlison could quickly become disgruntled if he isn’t in Conte’s starting line-up after the World Cup.

“The problem we’ve got with Richarlison is he’s always playing second fiddle as a centre-forward to Harry Kane. So we put him on the side and play him on the right,” O’Hara said.

The former Spurs midfielder was speaking to a fan on the show who feels Richarlison needs to be playing as a striker under Conte.

The fan also suggested that the Brazilian may have made a mistake by moving to north London over the summer.

“You make a good point,” O’Hara responded.

“When he comes back to Spurs and he’s sat on the bench as we’re playing Son, Kane and Kulusevski up-front with Richarlison back on the bench after the World Cup he’s just had, there’s no way he’s going to be happy.”

Richarlison will undoubtedly be desperate to cement his place in Tottenham’s side but he faces a tough task. Conte has a wealth of attacking options, with the likes of Son, Kane and Kulusevski in the squad.

The Italian has remained loyal to his 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 systems in north London. But it would be brilliant to see all four of Spurs’ attacking players in the starting line-up.

But that would mean Conte would either have to switch to a back four or put Kulusevski at right wing-back. It’s brilliant for Conte that he has options once again though after he was left short before the World Cup break.
