Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou believes that we haven’t seen the best of Dejan Kulusevski just yet.

The Spurs boss, speaking to football.london ahead of Tottenham v Everton, believes “there’s more to come” from the 23-year-old attacking talent.

Kulusevski has stepped up in the absence of James Maddison, becoming Tottenham’s main creative outlet in the final third over the last month and a half.

The Sweden international has excelled when asked to play at No. 10. For instance, he got two goals and two assists when playing there against Manchester City and Nottingham Forest.

Kulusevski also featured in that position against Newcastle, who struggled to get near him as he dribbled past opponents at will, sprayed passes and set chances up for his Spurs teammates.

His efforts have been key in helping Tottenham get back to winning ways after a downturn in form due in part to an injury and suspension crisis.

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou ‘really pleased’ with Dejan Kulusevski

When asked whether Tottenham had seen the best of Kulusevski, Postecoglou replied: “I hope not, I think there’s more to come with Deki, he’s still fairly young age-wise as well.

“I’ve been really pleased with him because he’s played a number of positions for us. One of the reasons we’re getting through this period is guys who’ve been willing to sort of take on different roles.

“Whether it’s him, Ben Davies, Emerson Royal, guys who’ve had to played different positions for us at different times.

“Irrespective of the position Deki has been a real impact player for us the whole season, whether that’s out wide… I really like him playing inside, it gives us another dimension is terms of our attacking threats.

“He’s such a hard worker that wherever you put him you know you’re going to get some output, irrespective of the position.

“But there is, there’s more to come and he’s a willing participant in that – he really works hard at his game, we’ve asked him to be more of a goal threat this year and he’s definitely doing that.

“He’s getting into those positions more and that shows me he still wants to improve and I’m sure he will.”

Dejan Kulusevski a star in the making at Spurs

It’s great to see Kulusevski stepping up for Spurs and it’s also great to hear Postecoglou sing his praises.

Kulusevski has done superbly for the most part since moving to Tottenham from Juventus.

You almost forget he’s just 23, what with how he plays, the 149 combined appearances for Spurs and Juve, and the 35 Sweden caps.

Kulusevski has his whole career ahead of him and it’ll be exciting to see how he continues to develop for Tottenham and for his nation.
