In his column on Sportskeeda, Paul Merson has predicted the result of Leeds United vs Watford.
After a sensational campaign last time out, Leeds have struggled this season. Marcelo Bielsa’s side are yet to win a game in the Premier League so far and are currently stuck in 18th in the table.
The game against Watford is a huge opportunity for them to break their duck. Merson has hinted that a few of Leeds’ rivals have ‘sussed them out,’ but he has still backed the Whites to pick up the three points at home tomorrow.
Paul Merson predicts Leeds United vs Watford
The former Arsenal man wrote: “As I said before, I like watching Leeds United. They play entertaining football, but the 2021-22 Premier League season has been tough for Marcelo Bielsa and co so far.
“Watford, on the other hand, are lethal on the counterattack and have a lot of pace on the flanks.
“If Leeds United don’t beat Watford at home – more so when they are desperate for a win – one would start to worry about them. There’s already a suspicion that teams have sussed them out, but I fancy them to hit the ground running and record a comfortable win this weekend.”
Merson has predicted a 3-1 win for Leeds tomorrow.

Should Bielsa change his system?
What made Leeds United such a fun team to watch last season was their style of play. Bielsa’s high-intensity, all-out-attack approach made them extremely dangerous last term, but they have struggled this campaign.
However, Leeds’ style is not the reason why they haven’t won yet. The Whites still maintain the better possession in most games, have plenty of shots at goal and still create decent chances. It’s their finishing that has let them down this season.
According to SofaScore, Leeds’ conversion rate in the Premier League this season is just 10%. They are missing almost one big chance per game as well, which is a shocking record.
This shows that Bielsa’s system is still good enough and needs no changing at this point. His lads just have to start taking their chances.
