Kaveh Solhekol has suggested to Sky Sports News that it is still possible that Tottenham Hotspur could sign Lautaro Martinez.
Still hope for Spurs
Tottenham are said to agreed a fee for Martinez with Inter Milan, but the problem for Nuno’s side is that was before the Italian club decided to sell Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
With Lukaku now set to head to Stamford Bridge for close to £100 million, Inter’s need to raise funds has been significantly reduced.
But Solhekol insists that a move to Tottenham is still not out of the question.
“Their fans are already up in arms that Lukaku is being sold, I dread to think what they’d do if Martinez was sold as well,” he said.
“But, bear in mind, Martinez only gets paid about £40,000–a-week which compared to other strikers of his quality, he’s not particularly well paid. And he only has two years left on his contract.

“I think if Spurs follow up that interest, if they keep knocking on the door of Inter, and his agent – I still think there’s a chance that could be done.”
Big signing
The latest update is sure to excite Spurs fans, with the Martinez links really catching the eye.
The 23-year-old Argentine is one of the most reputable strikers in Europe.
His wage demands may also not be too vast, given his current salary, and that could appeal to Spurs.
If Martinez and Harry Kane were to link up at Tottenham, Nuno would have one of the best front lines in the Premier League – with Heung-Min Son also at the club.
And Martinez’s arrival would completely change the mood around the North London club, after what was a disappointing season last term.
