West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has been asked about the reported wages Erling Haaland is getting at Manchester City.
The Daily Mail reported recently that the Norway superstar earns £865,000-a-week at City, with his £375,000-a-week basic wage supplemented by several, almost guaranteed bonuses, making him the country’s highest-paid player by a long way.
On the Footballers’ Football Podcast, Antonio reacted to the rumours and gave an insight into how they could impact the internal politics at a football club.

Antonio on reported Haaland wages
Antonio said when the reports were put to him: “I don’t know if I believe that. I don’t know.
“That’s going to make a big upheaval in the league. If he’s on 900 bags a week, if I’m Kevin de Bruyne I’m kicking doors off!
“At least six men on that field, if I’m in there week in week out, there’s no way man is on treble my money! There would be problems in the house.”
Haaland has made a devastating start to life in the Premier League but Liverpool managed to keep him quiet on Sunday, beating City 1-0 at Anfield.
Now, it is Antonio and West Ham’s turn to travel to Anfield and face a Reds side who are showing signs they have turned the corner now.
Meanwhile, Haaland and City were due to play against table-toppers Arsenal this midweek, but the game has been postponed.
That is because Arsenal are playing in the Europa League against PSV Eindhoven this Thursday, because that game was called off after the death of Queen Elizabeth.
