Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing Viktor Djukanovic but will need to pay more than £5million for the Hammarby talent.
Hammarby chief Mikael Hjelmberg has been speaking in Sweden amid mounting interest in the signature of wonderkid Viktor Djukanovic.
Fotboll Transfers note that Genoa, Bologna, PSV Eindhoven and even OH Leuven are interested.
The biggest name linked so far is Tottenham though with reports earlier in February suggesting that Spurs are interested.
Johan Lange was talked up as the big influence in Tottenham’s pursuit of Djukanovic and Hammarby’s stance has now been shared.
Hammarby chief on Viktor Djukanovic
Sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg has told Aftonbladet, as quoted by Fotboll Transfers, that Djukanovic is ‘absolutely’ not for sale.
However, Hammarby are realistic in knowing that a ‘rudely good offer’ could be tempting for the young winger.
Hjelmberg didn’t want to state an asking price but was clear that €6million (£5million) will not be enough to prise Djukankovic away.
Hammarby know that Djukanovic will move on soon, but believe that he should stay and develop in Sweden for a while yet.
“He is absolutely not and I have been quite clear about that as well, at the same time that everything has its price,” said Hjelmberg. “Should there be a rudely good offer, we will have to evaluate it in any case. I don’t really want to say. But 5–6 million euros is not enough.”
“You have a player in this as well who has ambitions, who wants to go to Europe. You need to explain how we think, that we think it might be good for him to stay. We also understand that he will not remain in Hammarby for three years. There will be a transfer, it’s just about the timing,” he added.

Johan Lange influence on Tottenham business
Dane Lange became Tottenham’s technical director earlier this season and has already demonstrated his knowledge of Scandinavian markets.
Djurgarden teenager Lucas Bergvall has agreed to join Spurs this summer and a move for Djukanovic would see Tottenham raid the Swedish market again.
Djukanovic only joined Hammarby from Buducnost Podgorica in early 2023 but has shown huge potential with 13 goals in 34 appearances.
Primarily a winger, Djukanovic has also shown that he can play up front and be a goal threat wherever he plays.
Lange appears to have spotted that potential and Spurs will now weigh up whether to make their move this summer, but leaving him on loan in Sweden may not be the worst idea.
