Moise Kean opened his Everton account during the midweek draw with Newcastle United and will hope his Toffees career takes off from there.
Team-mate Theo Walcott has told the club’s official website that he has been impressed with Kean all season and has backed him to kick on.
He said: “He is working really hard in training every day, we see some mad stuff he does with the ball and the power he has. He showed what Moise Kean is about. We see it in training and we’ve seen it in that game.”
“What I liked against Newcastle was his workrate, winning the ball back, working hard for the team and being a solid unit up there. I am pleased for Moise. The first goal is always the hardest and he has that out the way now. He is a very confident kid, he likes the ball at his feet and just enjoys playing football.”
TBR’s View – Ancelotti should be perfect to get the best out of Kean
Kean came to Everton with a huge reputation but has – understandably – taken time to adjust to the demands of playing in England as well as everything that comes with it.
But Carlo Ancelotti knows what it entails for an Italian coming to England and should be familiar with his compatriot’s strengths.
Ancelotti is getting a lot from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and should be able to do similar with Kean – getting the barrier of that first goal out of the way should also help him kick on.
