Theo Walcott has to carry out defensive duties for Everton against Chelsea

Everton attacker Theo Walcott has started every Premier League game so far this season and will hope to keep up that trend on Sunday for the away trip to Chelsea.

The Toffees visit Stamford Bridge in search of an upset and would love to break their opponents’ unbeaten start to the campaign.

Walcott has been a regular starter this term for the Merseyside club, scoring three goals and supplying two assists in 13 games across all competitions.

But the 29-year-old’s form has nosedived in recent weeks and one of his main weaknesses could leave Everton exposed on Sunday.

The right-winger has been extremely lazy in tracking back defensively in matches this campaign and Everton will be a sitting duck against Chelsea if he continues in the same vein.

Right-back Seamus Coleman is going to need an extra body around him to help defend against in-form Chelsea sensation Eden Hazard.

Walcott needs to do the ugly work by tracking back for his side and try to use his pace to launch counter attacks at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard has been one of the outstanding players in the division so far this season and is a nightmare for any defender to try stop in full flow one-on-one.

Walcott needs to play an unselfish role if Everton are to get anything out of the weekend and prove he’s a team player.
