Newcastle United are expected to be busy in the transfer market leading up to Friday’s deadline.
Eddie Howe is eager to bring in further reinforcement having made five additions so far this summer.
The Magpies have outlaid £57m on Lewis Hall, William Osula, Lloyd Kelly, John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Now, it’s just come to light that Howe wants two more through the door this week.

Newcastle want Marc Guehi and a right winger
According to i News, Newcastle want to make two signings before deadline day with Marc Guehi a prime target for Eddie Howe.
Guehi has been in talks to join Newcastle since Euro 2024 finished and it’s thought the club are close to agreeing a deal with Crystal Palace.
Howe is also keen to bring in a right winger to the club but that could be dependent on outgoings.
The Tynesiders are looking at the overseas market after they were priced out of moves for targets in this country.
James Trafford is also being considered by Newcastle chiefs ahead of the deadline but with the clock ticking, that deal seems unlikely to materialise in time.
Eddie Howe admits two more signings are unlikely
Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope took to X this morning and revealed that Howe believes two more signings are unlikely.
When asked if Newcastle could sign a centre-back and a right-winger, he replied: “Probably not, no,”
Cynics may suggest it’s a smokescreen but only time will tell with just three days remaining in the window.
There certainly needs to be activity out of the door to facilitate a move for an attacker.
