Tottenham have had a manic 2019 that has seen them lose a Champions League final and also appoint a new manager.

Spurs only have Premier League matches against Brighton and Norwich City left in the calendar year before January.

The North London club enjoyed a memorable ride to the European final during the 2018/19 campaign, which they eventually lost to Liverpool in Madrid.

Mauricio Pochettino was sacked in November after a difficult start to the 2019/20 season, with Jose Mourinho arriving to try help win some silverware.

Here is a look at the outstanding Spurs stars of 2019:

Despite his three red cards during the year, he’s been one of the outstanding individuals for Spurs this term and looked a £22million (BBC) bargain.

The South Korea international has scored 20 goals across all competitions in 2019 and been so influential.

He starred in the Champions League run by scoring three goals in the two-legged quarter-finals against Manchester City and on his day is unstoppable.

The 27-year-old ranked 22nd in the Ballon d’Or award for 2019 and his stock has risen during the year.

Sissoko has gone from villain to hero during his time in Spurs and 2019 highlighted how far he’s come.

The 30-year-old midfielder has consistently delivered quality displays in the centre of the park and even Mourinho has had to find room for him in his team.

His incredible work-rate is unrivalled in the squad and he deserved credit for the amount of times he’s lifted his team.

Kane is on 22 goals for the calendar year and despite not being at his perfect best, he’s still popped up with some brilliant moments and is a deadeye around the penalty area.

The England captain suffered an injury at the beginning of the year, as well as picking up a separate problem at the end of last season.

But he’s continued to fire when he’s been available to play and he’s up to third in the club’s all-time leading goalscorer table.

Honourable mentions: Lucas Moura, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen
