'The talent': Jarrod Bowen says Tottenham have a simply 'unbelievable' player in their squad
West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen has lavished praise on Tottenham talisman and England captain Harry Kane.
Bowen is preparing for a huge night in the Europa League tonight, looking to give the Hammers a first leg lead in their semi-final clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Kane is leading Tottenham’s charge for next season’s Champions League and both Englishmen could be dining at Europe’s top table next season.
If West Ham win the Europa League and Spurs come fourth, England will have five Champions League representatives in 2022/23.
Bowen came to West Ham from Hull and Kane’s connections with the EFL have been talked about plenty during his career.
The England captain had many loan spells before making the breakthrough at Tottenham and Bowen was asked if he is an inspiration in an interview with CNN.
Also speaking about Jamie Vardy, whose rise has been spectacular, Bowen said: “I think the talent they’ve got is unquestionable, they’re two unbelievable strikers.
“But I think the hard work they’ve got and the character they’ve got within themselves pushes them even more.”
Vardy and Kane came from lower down to establish themselves as England internationals, and were teammates at Euro 2016 and World Cup 2018.
Bowen is hoping to follow the same path, and would have been called up by England for the March round of fixtures but injury struck at an unfortunate time.
The wideman still has designs on making it to Qatar, as he said elsewhere in his interview, but before that, he is looking for European glory with West Ham.
