‘The suspense is killing me’: Some Liverpool fans slate ‘infuriating’ Jurgen Klopp pre-match comment
A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their concerns about Thiago Alcantara following a vague update on his fitness by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.
The Spanish ace joined Liverpool in September but, to date, has only made two appearances for the Anfield side.
Thiago has been unfortunate with illness and injury, and has not played since being sidelined in the Merseyside derby draw with Everton in mid-October following a challenge by Richarlison.

Speaking after the win over Leicester, Klopp said his player had not yet returned to first-team training, though he believed he wasn’t “too far” off coming back.
However, at his pre-match press conference ahead of the Champions League meeting with Atalanta at Anfield, Klopp remained coy over Thiago’s fitness.
“No news [on Thiago],” he told the club media team. “We will see.
“I don’t want to speak too much about it because I have no idea who Atalanta can bring so why should we give any information?”
Unless Thiago was set to go back into the squad or even in the starting XI against Atalanta – which seems very unlikely at this stage – why would such an update be of concern to Liverpool’s upcoming opponents?
Needless to say, this update on Thiago concerned a number of Liverpool fans, who had their say on social media:
Why can’t they just tell us if players are fit or not. It’s like we always have to speak in riddles when it surrounds injuries. Either they are fit or not. What does it matter if Atalanta know who is fit or not. It’s not as though he’s telling them the team. 🤷🏼♂️

Mate it’s infuriating. They’ve been doing tbis for nearly 4 years now they constantly give us false hope. I don’t think they’re ever said “he has a chance to play” and then they actually play.

Bit worrying how cloak and dagger it is with thiago though. He should just say he’s injured and not available.

Exactly it was a horrible tackle not his fault, but what’s frustrating is they keep saying he’s in contention and then he’s not there. Just be straight with us and tell us it’s long term if it is

Basically means he’s not playing. Until we see him in training with first team for few days then he’ll actually be in contention

Well we as the fans what to know I mean it’s been almost 2 months already, plus an international break as well, I really want to know but I guess Klopp has his reasons but still I mean the suspense is killing me, I’m sure all Liverpool fans want to know
