Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool future has emerged as the talk of the town in recent weeks as his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.
The Egyptian said earlier this season that he hasn’t been spoken to by the club about being offered a new deal, opening the door to the possibility that he could leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2025.
Salah has keen admirers in the Saudi Pro League and their interest in him is no secret. With his contract set to expire in a few months, the prospect of signing him on a free transfer could appeal to them greatly.
Speculation surrounding his future have dominated the back pages in recent weeks and Gabriel Agbonlahor has added fuel to the fire with a rather outrageous claim on how much Salah could stand to earn in Saudi.

Mohamed Salah could earn eye-watering sum if he leaves Liverpool for Saudi Arabia

Salah signed a new contract in the summer of 2022 as he became the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s history with a basic wage of £350k-per-week.
While that is certainly an enormous sum of money, Agbonlahor feels he is set to triple that number if he moves to Saudi as he shared what he’s heard about the transfer saga.
“The problem with Salah is he could end up being the man in Saudi Arabia,” said Agbonlahor on talkSPORT.
“You’ve got Ronaldo but what I’m hearing is that he could well be paid more than Cristiano.
“It’s almost like £1m a week, maybe more! Can he turn that down because he’s won everything for Liverpool?”
Liverpool need to keep Mohamed Salah
Despite turning 32 this year, Salah is undoubtedly Liverpool’s main man in attack and has shown no signs of slowing down.

The Egyptian has begun the new season in fine form under Arne Slot and has notched up six goals and five assists across all competitions, making him one of the most productive attackers in the country.
With Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s contracts also running out, Liverpool have their work cut out for them in the coming weeks to retain arguably three of their most important players.
The lure of the Saudi Pro League might be a bit hard to turn down – especially if Agbonlahor’s claims of Salah potentially being paid £1m are correct – but the fact of the matter is that the 32-year-old is still far too good to ditch Europe for the Middle East.
