The Antonio Conte revolution has begun at Tottenham Hotspur and club legend Ledley King has delivered his verdict on the Italian.

Conte is undoubtedly one of the best managers in the world. If anybody can end Spurs’ trophy drought, it’s him, and he has implemented a number of strict rules in and around the training ground already.

One of the most popular ones that has been revealed, unpopular one if you’re a Tottenham player, is the ban of pizza, ketchup, mayonnaise, brown sauce and fizzy drinks. (The Times)

King, who spent his entire career at Tottenham, was asked about this and the Englishman revealed that he went through this as a player too.

Ledley King: Juande Ramos implemented the same rules as Conte

Asked about the new diet plans at Tottenham, King said on The Kelly & Wrighty Show: “It happened with me and we brought in Juande Ramos at the time.

“He changed the diets of all the players, said we were all overweight. We’d seen Ramos’ work, we had seen him win things so we bought into that, so the same will be now with the players and Conte.

“He wants to instil discipline in the players, he wants to see who are the players he can take forward, who are the fighters.”

TBR View:

Ramos was appointed as the Tottenham boss in October 2007, a little over 14 years ago. He led Spurs to League Cup glory after a run which included an emphatic 5-1 win over Arsenal in the second leg of the semi-final.

The Spaniard’s diet plans certainly seemed to have helped Tottenham players of the past. Conte has been doing this for a while as well, and it has helped him win multiple league titles over the years.

Tottenham fans will be hoping that it will work again this season. Spurs will definitely not win the league this campaign, but if things go to plan for Conte, the Conference League and potentially even the FA Cup could well be theirs in May.
