Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich this summer, but for a long time he was linked with a move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils were said to be very keen on Kane at numerous points of his career, and a potential move this summer was touted.
However, Daniel Levy wasn’t keen to sell Kane to a direct rival, so an £86m move to Germany was on the cards instead.
Speaking to The Mirror, Dimitar Berbatov has been discussing the fact United missed out on Kane, and he reckons that United are regretting not signing Kane now as he continues to perform brilliantly in Germany.

United must regret not signing Kane
Berbatov shared his verdict on the striker.
“Seeing what he’s doing in Germany right now, the regret must be massive. Because he’s scoring goals for fun again in Germany like he was doing for Spurs. Based on how United are doing and how they are lacking goals I think they are regretting that decision, but it’s irreversible and he’s at Bayern Munich enjoying himself,” Berbatov said.
Transformative
United’s season would have looked so different if they’d signed Kane this summer.
Rasmus Hojlund has been misfiring all season long and a lack of goals has left United way off the pace in the race for the top four.
Kane, meanwhile, is a proven source of goals and a proven source of creativity no matter what team he’s in, and if he’d gone to United in the summer, we reckon that the Red Devils would be much closer to the top of the table than they are rightnow.
Unfortunately, as Berbatov says, this decision to join Bayern Munich is irreversible, and United now need to focus on signing the next best thing to Kane after missing out on the England captain this summer.
