A number of Arsenal fans believe that David Luiz’s impending departure from the Emirates should put Gunners loanee Konstantinos Mavropanos in contention for a first-team place.
The 23-year-old defender has been on the books at the Emirates Stadium since January 2018, when he joined from Greek outfit PAS Giannina.
However, injury issues have led to him making just eight first-team appearances with the North London club, much of his game time coming for the Under-23s.

Last season, Mavropanos spent time on loan at German second-tier side Nurnberg, making 13 appearances in all competitions and helping the club survive relegation.
This term, the 6ft 4in giant has been playing for Bundesliga side Stuttgart, overcoming injury problems to make 21 appearances in all competitions.
As reported by BBC Sport, Luiz spoke with Arsenal officials on Friday, and the two parties decided to go their separate ways when the player’s contract expires this summer.
William Saliba, who has been on loan at Nice, is expected to get a first-team opportunity next season, according to CBS Sports journalist James Benge.
And some Arsenal fans would love to see Mavropanos also given a chance next term:
