Tottenham Hotspur head into the final week of the transfer window in need of some reinforcements.

Spurs have been sat on their hands for most of the January window, Antonin Kinsky is the only new signing so far at Tottenham, and Spurs need help.

Tottenham have been linked with some new attacking additions recently.

Randal Kolo Muani was linked to Spurs before his move to Juventus, while Jonathan David is also a Tottenham target.

Tottenham have also been linked to Marcus Rashford in recent times, and according to Alex Crook, speaking on the TalkSPORT Transfer Notebook Podcast, Spurs may have a slight edge in the race to sign Rashford.

Why Tottenham may have edge in Marcus Rashford race

Crook shared what he knows about Rashford’s situation.

The journalist says that Rashford may have to consider a Premier League move in this window, and that Tottenham may have an edge as they have a good relationship with one of the agencies Marcus Rashford has hired to help get him a move.

“But do we get to deadline day when the European avenues have been closed? I think Barcelona are going to need to get players out in order to facilitate any kind of move,” Crook said.

“One of those Premier League clubs, or West Ham or maybe even Tottenham, who have a good relationship with one of the agencies that I understand, Marcus Rashford, has enlisted the help of to get him a move. Do they go to Manchester United and say, look, if you can swallow up a bigger percentage of his wages, we’ll take him?

Could that well happen on deadline day?”

Rashford could well be Tottenham-bound before the end of the transfer window.

The attacker isn’t in the best of form as of late, as the stats show.

However, Tottenham know first-hand what Rashford can do when he’s playing his best football.

Indeed, Rashford has scored plenty of goals against Spurs during his career, and he could soon be set to pull on a lilywhite shirt.

Of course, Manchester United and Tottenham, historically, haven’t done lots of business over the years, with the last permanent transfer between the two clubs being over 15 years ago when Dimitar Berbatov crossed this divide.

However, desperate times call for desperate measures and with Rashford looking for an exit, a move to Spurs may come into the equation for the England international.
