Liverpool have made a bright start to the season but contract concerns continue to cast a shadow on their success.
Arne Slot made it two wins from two in the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brentford on Sunday afternoon.
The Dutchman has made a smooth transition into the managerial hot-seat at Anfield and a blockbuster clash against Manchester United is now on the horizon.
But for all of Liverpool‘s on-pitch success, questions are still being asked of their off-pitch decisions.
The Reds are still the only Premier League side yet to complete a new signing this summer, although Liverpool are now closing in on a £30m deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili.
There are also major concerns over the future of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk with their contracts all expiring next summer.

Liverpool will find it ‘difficult’ to keep hold of one star
It would be nothing short of a disaster if Liverpool lose their three biggest stars for free next summer.
Speaking on talkSPORT, journalist Alex Crook provided an update on contract talks at Anfield and while he had a positive outlook on Alexander-Arnold’s future, he admitted Liverpool will find it hard to keep hold of Mohamed Salah.
“I think they’re three very individual cases, we look at Mo Salah and the interest of Saudi Arabia.
“I think we all expect him to end up there eventually, obviously in an ideal world Liverpool would have rather sold him for £100million but they did turn down that big-money offer.
“I think he’s going to be a difficult one to keep.
“I think Trent Alexander-Arnold is the one they are most keen to keep and I think that probably will happen.
“Then you look at Virgil van Dijk, he’s not getting any younger. He’s still a colossal defender at times but maybe they might want to go in a slightly different direction.”
Mohamed Salah’s final season at Liverpool
Salah has been the face of Liverpool since his £34million move in 2017. The Egyptian winger has cemented his status as a Liverpool and Premier League legend.

But it seems this could be his last season at Anfield, with Saudi Arabia waiting on Liverpool’s doorstep for a chance to sign the 32-year-old.
After rejecting nine-figure bids for him in recent windows, Slot and Liverpool will hope that their decision to keep hold of their star winger this season is justified – Salah has certainly started the season well.
