With the Premier League season over and an eye towards next term, some Arsenal fans have urged the club to bring Donny van de Beek to the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old midfielder burst onto the big stage last year after helping Ajax to the semi-finals of the 2018-19 Champions League and putting them within a whisker of the final.
Van de Beek made 37 appearances last season, scoring 10 goals and claiming 11 assists, while his overall competitive tally for Ajax stands at 175 games, 41 goals and 34 assists.

A box-to-box central midfielder who excels as the water carrier as well as being a threat in the opposition third, the Netherlands international is one of Europe’s most sought-after talents.
Manchester United have recently been linked with Van de Beek, while the likes of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich have been linked over the years.
He has been compared to Dennis Bergkamp, with Frank de Boer speaking in the past about how the Arsenal legend thought the young Van de Beek reminded him of himself (via talkSPORT).
With Arsenal very much in need of an established No. 10, particularly given Mesut Ozil’s future at the club looks very uncertain, the Dutch ace would no doubt be a superb option for Mikel Arteta.
According to Teamtalk, Ajax are believed to have given Van de Beek a €55million (£48.8million) price tag, so he may not be particularly affordable at this moment in time.
