‘The only problem’… Thierry Henry says £45m Arsenal player has one big issue

Gabriel Jesus has been fantastic since signing for Arsenal last summer.

Yes, he’s not been as prolific as he probably should’ve been over the past 12 months, but his all-round performances have been brilliant and he played a huge part in the Gunners’ title charge last season.

However, as with any player, Jesus isn’t perfect, and speaking on CBS Sports, Thierry Henry has outlined one big issue that he has with the Brazilian.

Indeed, the Arsenal legend says that the only problem with Jesus is that he’s always getting injured, claiming that the player’s fitness is not only an issue for him, but for Arsenal as well.

Jesus’s fitness an issue

Henry spoke about the £45m striker.

“The only problem with Gabriel Jesus is that he often gets injured, not only for him but for us,” Henry said.

No use

As much as we love Jesus as a player, he’s no use to anyone if he isn’t fit.

It’s the biggest cliché of them all, but the best ability in football is indeed availability.

Some of the best players of all-time are so good because they were so reliable and so rarely injured, but, sadly, that isn’t a trait that Jesus has.

The striker’s body seems to be failing him way too often, and his absence from this Arsenal team is being noticed in the big games.

There’s a reason Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Ivan Toney in January, they probably do need a new striker who they can rotate with Jesus and rely on more often if they are to truly challenge for the biggest prizes in the game.

Jesus is a fantastic footballer, and he’s more than good enough to play for Arsenal, but, if he’s not fit, he’s of no use to anyone.
