'The one I'm going to be looking out for': Sky pundit backs £1.8m Rangers ace to shine this season
Glasgow Rangers summer signing Antonio Colak has been tipped to have a good season at Ibrox by Sky Sports pundit Andy Walker.
Rangers brought the 28-year-old to Ibrox from PAOK for a reported £1.8million plus add-ons earlier this month.
Colak has signed a three-year contract at Rangers, who hold an option for a fourth year.
The Croatia international scored 19 goals on loan at Malmo last term.
Two of those came against Rangers as they were eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers.
Colak has also played in Germany, Poland and his native Croatia before linking up with Greece’s PAOK in 2020.
With continued speculation about Alfredo Morelos’ future and other strikers leaving, Rangers needed new attacking options.
Amad Diallo has returned to Manchester United following his loan spell and Cedric Itten joined BSC Young Boys last month.
Rangers kick off the 2022-23 Scottish Premiership season today in their trip to Livingston.
Ahead of the game, Walker and fellow Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd spoke about each club’s player to watch out for this season.
Walker opted for the Rangers newcomer, writing: “The one I’m going to be looking out for is the guy who scored against Spurs in pre-season, Antonio Colak.
“There will be a bit of pressure on him to be as consistent a goalscorer as Alfredo Morelos, but Colak has the experience, he’s 28, and he will get a bit of service from Rabbi Matondo and Tom Lawrence.
“He’s shown he can score goals at his previous clubs and I think he will do the same in Scotland.”
