Todd Cantwell was drawing similarities with Jack Grealish last night, amid links to Aston Villa.

The Daily Express say that Villa could spend £40 million on the playmaker if Grealish does leave the club this summer.

And Cantwell’s performance in Norwich’s friendly yesterday may have made the transfer even more appealing.

Cantwell’s assist in the contest was particularly impressive, as he flicked an overhead into his teammate to score from.

The move was hugely impressive, as Cantwell dictated it right from the start.

And Villa fans will surely be intrigued to see the comparisons with Grealish being drawn up already.

Catching the eye

Norwich are likely to fight hard to keep hold of Cantwell, who has caught the eye over two seasons now.

The stylish creator was one of Norwich’s star performers as they got relegated from the Premier League two years ago, and then helped them bounce straight back.

If Cantwell does carry his impressive pre-season form into the main campaign then there is no telling just how much his value could rise.

But Villa will be hoping that they can keep Grealish and the addition of Cantwell won’t actually be needed.
